Dresden Congress Fund: New support for event organisers

The state capital, Dresden, is taking targeted steps to strengthen its position as a conference destination with the new ‘Dresden Congress Fund’. The fund is aimed at national and international organisers of conferences, meetings and specialist symposia who choose Dresden as their venue. Depending on the number of participants, organisers receive financial support for in-person specialist conferences. This creates even better conditions for knowledge transfer, exchange and innovation in the Saxon capital.
The aim is to use targeted support to encourage the hosting of high-quality events, even outside the traditional peak season.

Support for specialist conferences

The Dresden Congress Fund supports organizers of specialist conferences in holding their events in Dresden. Through a tiered cooperation contribution, the fund helps to attract high-quality conferences to the Saxon capital and strengthen international exchange.

Requirements & Conditions

Requirements:

Congress in Dresden (fee required for location & program)
Professional audience (career interest)
At least 400 in-person participants per day
In the months of January, February, March, July, August or November
Duration of at least two days
No contractual obligations upon application
First time being held in Dresden
Eligible applicants: legal entities, partnerships, non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbHs), associations, clubs, self-employed individuals

Excluded formats:

Digital conferences
Leisure, cultural, sporting and consumer events 
Fewer than 400 in-person participants per day
Formats already commissioned/legally required
Party-political or commercial leisure formats
Trade fairs/exhibitions/presentations (except those purely subject-related or associated with a cooperative congress)

Legal claim:

There is no entitlement to participate in the cooperation. The conclusion of a cooperation agreement is subject to the availability of funds.
